Childminders offer flexible care in their own home for up to 3 children under the age of 5. Some also care for older children before and after school. Childminders are Ofsted registered and work to the same standards and are inspected regularly in the same way as nurseries and pre-schools. Childminders often offer additional services such as earlier care, later care, weekend care and school pickups/drop-offs which can be invaluable to families.
For this campaign, Portsmouth City Council wanted to show, in a fun and clear way, who childminding services apply to. I was asked to create characters aged from newborn, to school age, so that people watching the video would immediately understand if their children are eligible for the care. To create the characters, I researched images and videos of what children of different age look like and how they move. The end result is a fun bit of animation that I thoroughly enjoyed making.
